What Are The Advantages Of Using CBD Oil?

As awareness of the medicinal value of marijuana spreads around the world, more and more states in the United States are allowing its use. As a result, a substance known as CBD oil is gaining popularity as a natural remedy for health problems such as anxiety, depression, and even cancer.

Additionally, CBD oil and its benefits are all over the news these days, and rightly so. CBD or cannabidiol research continues to show the many ways this natural cannabis compound can support our bodies and help treat various ailments.

It is quickly becoming a viable and all-natural alternative to traditional drugs for various ailments, ranging from mild to extreme and even life-threatening. Many people assume that CBD oil comes only from marijuana and is still illegal and inaccessible to them due to the decades-long ban on marijuana. However, this is not the case. Follow the link for more information.

Before we dive into the particular benefits of this compound, it is important to remember that it is completely safe to use CBD oil in any form as it does not cause addiction or dependence on the drug. This makes it ideal for those who want to conquer addiction or refrain from consuming addictive substances. CBD oil has been documented to help:

Chronic pain and inflammation

People suffering from chronic pain related to fibromyalgia have found relief from the use of CBD oil. It has also been found to relieve pain and protect the nervous system from degeneration. It is approved in Canada for the treatment of multiple sclerosis and cancer pain.

CBD has also managed to reduce chronic inflammation and pain in certain rats and mice, according to the authors of a report published in the Journal of Experimental Medicine. According to the researchers, the product could be used as a potential therapy for chronic pain.

Aside from that, people with arthritis use it all the time because it has helped them manage their pain. If you have any doubts about the product, you can ask your doctor for advice. There are many health professionals who recommend the use of this oil on their patients. Not only that, people have confirmed that it actually works against arthritis.

Anxiety and depression

Many people struggle with depression on a daily basis. Anxiety is a milder physiological problem, but it can also be stressful on a person’s body. In such cases, doctors recommend the use of antidepressants, which sometimes work and sometimes don’t. They can also cause mild side effects.

Doctors usually warn people with chronic anxiety to avoid cannabis, as even traces of THC can activate or worsen anxiety and paranoia.

However, researchers in a study published in the journal Neurotherapeutics in 2015 discovered that cannabidiol, a non-psychoactive compound, affected patients with a range of mental health problems including panic and general anxiety disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and substance abuse . Read more about it here.

However, these results have been concluded by laboratory experiments, clinical studies, and observational data, and there is currently no human-based research. CBD has also been shown to alleviate the tension and anxiety associated with public speaking. While there aren’t enough studies to confirm the benefits, many people who have tried the oil have reported that it has helped them in a variety of ways.

Many doctors are also aware of the advantages and therefore do not advise their patients against the product as long as they pay attention to the dosage.

What Are The Benefits Of Using CBD Oil?

Cannabidiol is also attributed to neurological pain such as migraines. Migraines are a common headache condition that can cause uncomfortable headaches that can range from mild to extreme. Although nasal sprays, pills, and medicines have long been used to treat migraines, there is growing evidence that CBD oil can also be helpful.

Because of its anti-inflammatory and analgesic properties, as well as its proven ability to relieve vomiting and relieve pain, it is believed to be able to help migraine sufferers.

CBD has made headlines in the beauty industry lately as skin care products made from hemp hit the shelves. It was named “the newest must-have oil” in the industry. It is a widely searched ingredient in topical skin care products today.

Acne is one of the most common skin care problems that people seek remedies for. Acne is a very serious skin condition that is caused by various factors such as bacteria, genetics, and overproduction of sebum. Hence, it is probably best to see a dermatologist and find out what is causing your acne.

The overproduction of sebum combined with dead cells on the skin triggers clogged pores, a major cause of acne breakouts. CBD is said to help regulate sebum development, reduce breakouts, and potentially have an anti-inflammatory impact on the sebum glands. This makes it a useful product for the prevention and treatment of acne and inflammation symptoms.

There is positive anecdotal evidence of the impact of CBD on other skin problems, in addition to treating acne symptoms.

What Are The Benefits Of Using CBD Oil?

These are just a few of the benefits of this life changing product. Studies are still being conducted even after you read this article. Researchers around the world are better understanding and adapting how CBD oil can help us live better, healthier, and more natural lives.

Massage oils activate body tissues when applied to the skin, improving health and moisturizing the skin. Consumers can choose from a wide range of essences and flavors that support specific sensations and help soothe physical or mood ailments. The combination of essential oils and carrier oils creates commercial oils. Carrier oils are primarily vegetable oils developed from nuts and seeds, and essential oils are steam distilled or extracted from aromatic flowers, leaves, and other plant components.

The primary goal of massage oils is to smooth the skin with an am to reduce friction during massage. This offers a smooth surface and easy workability for the massaging person. Some of the secondary benefits of these oils are to moisturize the skin and act as the “base” or “carrier” oil for aromatherapy essential oils.

One of the most important catalysts for the growth of the massage oil market is increasing consumer awareness of massage as a healing method to treat various health problems such as pain or cramps, arthritis and aches and pains. Additionally, with the increase in the hectic and busy lifestyle, the massage oil market would have lucrative growth opportunities which would lead to an increase in stress-related conditions. In addition, the growth of the market will continue to be driven by the high accessibility of various forms of massage therapy.

Effects of COVID-19

The outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic has hit many industries worldwide. Many medical authorities focus on business and public facilities. The stationary retail trade had to close its shops in numerous countries. Italy, for example, was hardest hit by the global pandemic as the country had the most COVID-19 cases and the government imposed strict lockdown regulations that resulted in the closure of spa and wellness facilities and medical therapy centers. These factors hampered the demand for and growth of massage oil during the pandemic.

Market growth factors:

The increase in the number of spa and wellness centers

The demand for spa and wellness centers has increased among individuals worldwide. Factors such as an increase in the number of spa offerings in resorts, hotels and other leisure facilities would fuel the growth of the massage oil market in the coming years. The global tourism industry has experienced a boom in recent years. The tourists are seeking massage and wellness services for rejuvenation and healing purposes, which would open prospects for growth for the entire massage oil market.

Growing geriatric population

The increase in the geriatric population is expected to fuel the demand and growth of massage oil in the market. Growing longevity is constantly driving the aging population around the world. According to the World Bank group, the geriatric population (population over 65 years of age) grew from 8.22% of the world population to 9.32% from 2015 to 2020. In addition, this population group is more susceptible to various chronic diseases with the help of various methods such as Ayurveda, homeopathy and allopathy, with massage oil playing a crucial role.

Market-inhibiting factor:

High cost of massage oil

There is a high demand for massage and wellness centers worldwide; However, the high cost of massage-related services due to the huge cost of massage oil can discourage many people from opting for these services. While massage oil offers many health benefits, many consumers with low disposable incomes could not afford these products, which would hamper the growth of the massage oil market over the forecast period.

Application outlook

Depending on the application, the market is divided into medical therapeutics, spa and wellness centers, and other applications. The medical therapeutics segment would show an outstanding growth rate in the forecast period. Medical massage services generally include deep tissue, Shiatsu, and Ayurveda massage, which help treat various musculoskeletal ailments such as sports injuries and stress. These therapies help the injury heal faster by improving blood flow and reducing inflammation.

End-user Outlook

Based on the end user, the market is divided into adult oil and baby oil. Baby oil would show a promising growth rate over the forecast period. Baby carers in emerging markets such as China and India are advised to massage their infants regularly. Regular massages offer babies many health benefits. A massage with the necessary oils helps in strengthening a baby’s muscles and bones and improves digestion, skin structure, sleep, and blood circulation.

Product outlook

Depending on the product, the market is divided into almond oil, coconut oil, olive oil, citrus oil and other products. The almond oil segment achieved the highest share of sales in the massage oil market in 2020. In addition, therapists are increasingly turning to this type of oil because it contains various nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants. In addition, it is quickly absorbed by the skin, making the oil a powerful and effective moisturizer.

Regional outlook

Based on the regions, the market is segmented into North America, Europe, Asia-Pacific, and Latin America, the Middle East and Africa. According to the study by STR Inc., Europe had the highest number of hotels with spa facilities in the world in 2018. The demand for these oils in the region is increased by the fact that these spas offer different types of massage treatments such as Thai, reflexology, shiatsu massage. A recent online survey of 2,063 US respondents found younger adults were more likely to experience chronic pain than older adults.

In particular, the survey conducted by The Harris Poll on behalf of the Samueli Foundation found that 65% of respondents ages 18 to 34 and 52% of respondents ages 35 and older had chronic pain.

Reference: Press release titled “Adults under 35 with chronic pain are more likely to use cannabis or CBD to treat it.”

Other survey results showed barriers to managing chronic pain: 75% of adults aged 18 to 34 said they did not know “what type of health care provider can best help them manage their pain”.

In addition, the survey found:

  • 32% of adults ages 18 to 34 reported back pain, making them the most commonly reported pain report, followed by 20% who reported either neck or knee pain;
  • Since the pandemic began, 29% of those aged 44 and younger have been speaking more often to their doctors about their pain, compared with 15% of those aged 45 and older; and
  • 22% of those aged 44 and younger use cannabis or CBD oil to treat their pain, compared with 11% of those aged 45 and older.

“It is clear that young people are trying to manage their chronic pain on their own, but they also want and need the help of their providers in determining the most effective treatments for their pain.” Wayne Jonas, MD, Executive director for inclusive health programs at the Samueli Foundation and former director of the NIH Office of Alternative Medicine, said in a press release. “GPs, who treat most pain sufferers, should guide their patients – especially young adults – to proven, effective strategies for managing their everyday pain.”

According to additional survey results from respondents who said they had chronic pain:

  • 78% reported using non-pharmacological therapies, while 70% reported using pharmacological therapies to relieve their chronic pain;
  • 80% of those who took non-pharmacological therapy said they would be interested in following a healthier eating plan to relieve their pain, while 71% were interested in trying out exercise and 68% were interested in massage therapy , 62% were interested in physical therapy and 61% were interested in mindfulness-based stress reduction or meditation; and
  • 53% reported using over-the-counter treatment to relieve their chronic pain, followed by 43% who reported exercising, 34% reported using heat and / or ice, and 26% reported being healthier feed, 16% who used cannabis or CBD, 15% who used either physiotherapy or massage therapy, and 14% who practiced yoga.

“This should be a wake-up call for doctors that their patients are looking for more information from them about the management of their chronic pain, especially with non-drug approaches,” Jonas said in the press release. “It is up to providers across the healthcare system to have regular discussions with patients to uncover the best options for treating their pain on a daily basis.”

In an interview with Healio Primary Care, Jonas discussed the survey results, current findings on the use of CBD and cannabis for chronic pain, when a patient should be referred to a specialist and more.

Healio basic care: Why do you think younger people are more likely to report chronic pain than older people?

Jonas: This result came as a bit of a surprise as we usually think that older people have more arthritis and chronic health problems.

Chronic pain is persistent pain felt for 12 weeks or more due to trauma, stress, stress, and irritation to the body, as well as, in some situations, the lingering effect of an incident that triggered acute pain. Psychosocial stress is more common among young people with the pandemic as they are more exposed to stress such as losing their jobs, being at home with their children more often, and trying to get by on a reduced income when they cannot work virtually from home was.

Healio Primary Care: Why do you think patients, as the survey showed, talk to their doctors more often about chronic pain??

Jonas: One reason could be that those who have an injury that they would normally recover from are now trying to recover from stress, without sleep or poor diet, or are overweight.

Another reason is that chronic stress can cause psychological problems like depression and anxiety. There is data showing that the COVID-19 pandemic is causing a mental illness epidemic. However, because of the stigma associated with poor mental health, people don’t necessarily want to come into their doctor’s office and say, “Oh, I have a mental health problem” or “I’m depressed or anxious”. but they come in and say, “My back hurts.”

Healio basic care: What does current evidence suggest about the benefits and harms of using cannabis and / or CBD oil to treat chronic pain?

Jonas: Currently, the best evidence suggests that cannabis and CBD oil may be most useful for neuropathic pain that is sometimes associated with diabetes and chemotherapy treatments.

However, most chronic pain in young people is of musculoskeletal origin, and there is insufficient evidence to support the use of CBD and cannabis for this purpose. Hence, the people who use CBD for this purpose may be using it inappropriately.

Healio Primary Care: What Should Doctors Say About Cannabis Use Disorder To Patients Using Cannabis Or CBD Oil?

Jonas: Any time a patient uses something like this repeatedly, there is a risk of side effects such as addiction. Using these products for chronic pain is like trying to put a patch on something that requires deeper investigation and treatment. It does suggest, however, that doctors should view cannabis as an attempt at self-treatment; these patients try to take pain management into their own hands. We should acknowledge this and look for ways to help them manage their pain appropriately.

Healio basic care: What complementary and alternative medical options can PCPs recommend to patients with chronic pain?

Jonas: There are several non-drug or complementary and integrative medicine approaches to chronic pain, and we have pretty good research showing that they are safe and effective.

The American College of Physicians has shown that therapeutic yoga can be very effective for back pain, as can massage and mind-body techniques. These would be the treatment options I would recommend doctors to guide and help their patients.

Healio basic care: What is a PCP?s role in chronic pain management? When should patients be referred to a pain specialist?

PCPs are the most likely providers to help patients manage their chronic pain. But pain associated with loss of bowel or bladder function requires immediate specialist care; Therefore, patients who experience this should be referred quickly for a specialized examination. The other red flag for referral to a specialist is pain that has lasted more than 3 months and that has not benefited from nonsteroidal or non-drug approaches, even if it does not result in loss of bowel or bladder function.

Healio Primary Care: Is there anything else you would like on this subject? Add?

Jonas: Very few physicians have received training in non-drug, complementary, and integrative approaches to chronic pain, and some may not know how to access or receive reimbursement for such training.

The Samueli Foundation has partnered with Tufts University to develop a free complementary and alternative medicine course that allows users to credit 4 hours of CME in these approaches. It can be found at
