The growth of this market is largely attributed to the increasing demand and legalization of cannabis, the increasing use of cannabis in cancer, and the health benefits of cannabis-infused products. In addition, the use of cannabis in pet food and the increasing demand for cannabis-infused beverages present significant opportunities for manufacturers of CBD-infused products. However, the high costs associated with cannabidiol and the strict government regulations against cannabis in certain countries are hampering the growth of this market.

The CBD Infused Products market examined in this report is mainly segmented by source (Hemp and Marijuana) [edibles (confectionery products, bakery products, beverages, coffee & tea products, and other CBD edible products), oil and extracts, personal care products (skincare products, haircare products, deodorants & perfumes, other personal care products), smoke & vape products, supplements, and other CBD products]; Distribution channel [offline (dispensaries, pharmacies, natural health foods store, and others) and online]and geography (North America, Europe, Asia Pacific, Latin America, and the middle East & Africa). The study also evaluates the industry’s competitors and analyzes the market at the country level.

Based on the source, the CBD Infused Products market is primarily divided into Hemp and Marijuana. In 2021, the hemp segment is estimated to have the larger share of the overall market for CBD-infused products. The large portion of this segment is largely attributed to its lower levels of THC, which reduce or eliminate its psychoactive effects, and the increasing number of hemp products for various medicinal uses. Also its anti-inflammatory, anti-aging and antioxidant properties; and the high potency of CBD from hemp is a key factor in the large proportion of this segment.

In 2021, the CBD food segment will account for the largest share of the overall market for CBD-infused products. The growth of this market is largely attributed to the growing popularity of recreational cannabis; increasing demand for foods fortified with CBD; increasing acceptance of CBD in various industries such as confectionery and bakeries; and cannabis users looking for alternatives to smoking cannabis. Also, the increasing use of CBD foods to treat psychiatric disorders, neurological disorders, and cancer, along with pain control, is expected to fuel demand for CBD foods.

Based on the sales channel, the market for products containing CBD is divided into offline and online shops. In 2021, the offline shops segment is expected to make up the larger share of the overall market for CBD-infused products. However, the online store segment is expected to grow during the forecast period due to the ease of use and the rapid penetration of CBD-infused products on e-commerce platforms with the fastest CAGR.

How to use CBD oil for neuropathy

Published

on

We include products that we believe will be useful to our readers. If you buy from links on this page, we may earn a small commission. Here is our process.

Applying cannabidiol (CBD) oil to a painful area or taking it orally can help relieve neuropathic pain. However, more research is needed to determine the safety and effectiveness of CBD products.

Is CBD Legal?? Hemp-derived CBD products with less than 0.3% THC are legal at the federal level, but are still illegal under some state laws. On the other hand, cannabis-derived CBD products are illegal nationwide, but legal under some state laws. Check local laws, especially when traveling. Also, keep in mind that the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved any over-the-counter CBD products that may be inaccurately labeled.

Neuropathy causes chronic pain due to damaged nerves. It can be excruciating, and sometimes medication prescribed by the doctor may not provide adequate pain relief. Some people may be looking for alternative remedies, including CBD oil.

CBD oil comes from the cannabis plant. CBD products usually don’t contain tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), which is the ingredient that causes the high that people associate with cannabis. When a product contains THC, the levels are generally very low.

Researchers are studying the effectiveness of CBD oil on many conditions, including chronic pain. Research continues into how safe CBD products are.

It can be difficult for individuals to choose a safe CBD oil product due to the lack of uniform government regulation. Some studies show that certain products are not properly labeled and may contain unexpected ingredients or amounts.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved the safety, effectiveness, or quality of over-the-counter CBD products.

However, to protect a person’s health, they can take action against CBD companies that make unsubstantiated health claims.

Neuropathy is a chronic pain disorder. A person with neuropathy has damaged nerves.

Damaged nerves can occur after a physically traumatic incident or under a variety of conditions, such as:

Sometimes doctors cannot determine why a person has neuropathy, but they can suggest different treatment options.

When a person develops neuropathy due to treatable conditions such as diabetes, chronic alcohol abuse disorder, or nutritional deficiencies, the doctor tries to control the condition first.

People with chronic neuropathic pain can benefit from consulting a pain specialist when simple pain relievers don’t work.

Doctors can prescribe medications such as:

Learn more about diabetic neuropathy here.

Sometimes treatments in current guidelines do not provide adequate pain relief, and a person may prefer to study CBD oil for neuropathy.

In a small 2020 study, researchers randomized 29 people with neuropathy to receive CBD oil or a placebo.

The participants in the CBD oil group tolerated the product well and had a statistically significant reduction in pain compared to the placebo group.

While these results seem promising, researchers will need to conduct further studies on a larger population to confirm these results.

People with neuropathy claim that several cannabis products, including inhaled cannabis herb, sprays, and tablets, are effective.

However, there is still a lack of good evidence that a CBD product works for chronic neuropathic pain.

Risks with using CBD oil include the possibility of incorrect labeling, exposure to higher doses of THC, or other contaminants.

The FDA is investigating the proposed health claims of CBD products. They suggest that CBD products can potentially harm users, but it is unclear how these products and their different methods of administration can be harmful.

Some of the side effects reported by the FDA are:

  • Liver damage
  • Drug interactions
  • male reproductive toxicity
  • Changes in alertness
  • Digestive problems
  • Mood swings

A person can apply CBD oil directly to the skin in the area where they feel pain.
Some CBD oil products are intended for oral administration, for example in the form of pills, tinctures, and gums.

Follow the directions on the label, but keep in mind that there are no set guidelines for using CBD oil for neuropathy.

Choosing a CBD product is a challenge. Buying from licensed retailers is the safest way to choose a CBD product. These products are more likely to be regulated by the government.

There are currently no guidelines in place to help people choose CBD products for neuropathy. When a person is looking for CBD products, they should check the ingredients for the amount of THC that can cause side effects.

Before choosing a CBD product, a person should consult their doctor. Doctors can help monitor patients for side effects and help with therapy choices.

CBDfx soft gel capsules

CBDfx soft gel capsules are full spectrum and are taken orally.

Each dose contains 25 mg of hemp-derived CBD, and the company recommends that a person take one or two capsules a day. They also recommend always following the directions on the label.

The company also states that its capsules contain almost undetectable levels of THC within the 0.3% legal limit.

CBDfx soft gel capsules can be purchased online.

CBD fuel full spectrum CBD oil tincture

The company suggests that using CBD oil tincture made from full-spectrum CBD hemp may show benefits after 7 to 14 days if taken regularly.

Full spectrum means that several cannabinoids that occur naturally in the cannabis plant are present along with up to 0.3% THC.

Each dose delivers 33 milligrams (mg) of CBD. Individuals can take this product orally – hold it under the tongue for 10-20 seconds before swallowing.

The company claims the product is non-addictive and contains less than 0.3% THC. They also claim that their products have been tested by a third party.

CBDistillery’s full spectrum CBD oil tincture can be purchased online.

Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Oil

This body oil comes with a rollerball applicator, which makes it easy for a person to apply the oil to the affected area or pressure points on the body. According to the company website, the product can penetrate deep into the skin.

It contains a broad spectrum CBD derived from hemp. This means that the oil contains many natural cannabinoids from the plant, but generally does not contain THC.

While the product website claims the body oil was tested in a laboratory to ensure purity, it also lists important warnings.

The FDA has not rated Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Oil for efficacy or safety. In addition, the label indicates that the product is not certified as free from harmful substances.

The Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Oil is available online.

Some doctors recommend transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS) as a non-invasive treatment for neuropathic pain relief. TENS uses electrical currents to activate nerves for pain relief.

Some people prefer herbal remedies. Some remedies that researchers have studied for neuropathy include:

  • Acorus Calamus
  • Alstonia Scholaris
  • Artemisia dracunculus
  • Butea monosperma
  • Citrullus colocynthis
  • long turmeric
  • Crocus sativus
  • Elaeagnus angustifolia
  • Ginkgo biloba
  • Mitragyna speciosa
  • Momordica charantia
  • Nigella sativa
  • Ocimum
  • Phyllanthus amarus
  • Pterodon pubescens Benth
  • Rosmarinus officinalis
  • Rubia cordifolia
  • Salvia officinalis

Learn more about essential oils for neuropathic pain here.

Before using CBD oil products, a person should speak to a doctor as some products can interfere with or interact with other drugs.

Certain CDB products can also be unsafe and cause undesirable side effects.

Doctors can help individuals choose safer products, but cannot guarantee the effectiveness of CBD products for neuropathy. By discussing the use of CBD with a doctor, a person can be monitored for possible side effects.

If a person with neuropathy is looking for alternative treatments, a doctor can help them find a more suitable option. By discussing the therapeutic goals and perceived benefits of using CBD oil, clinicians can help set appropriate pain relief goals and set realistic expectations.

While many people with neuropathy explore the use of CBD products, there is a lack of evidence of their effectiveness.

Certain CBD products, including CBD oils, are not regulated. Products obtained from unlicensed sources may contain pollutants or different amounts of CBD and THC than the labels suggest.

People with neuropathy who feel they are not getting adequate pain relief from conventional therapies should speak to their doctor.

A person must tell their doctor if they are taking CBD products to monitor them for possible signs of toxicity, side effects, and effectiveness.

Hemp-Growing CBD Oil Business Model Is Challenging

Published

on

Lyda helped set up the hemp grower Healthy Harvesting LLC with its line of CBD products under the HempOfy label. Most of their hemp is handled by hand under his direction. In 2020, they added 6 acres, enough to keep nine workers weeding, pruning, fertilizing and harvesting for weeks.

The harvest on its 6 hectares begins at the end of August and lasts almost three months. Workers cut the branches of the plants by hand, leaving a lonely stem in the ground. Then they wipe off the individual leaves and flowers by hand, which are placed on racks in one of six air-conditioned trailers at 60 degrees F with the dehumidifier running.

After three days of drying, the plant material is ready for processing, which is done by Healthy Harvest itself. Nevertheless, plant material from 2020 was still processed in the summer of 2021. There are often bottlenecks in processing. Lyda’s operation can only produce about 4 gallons of oil per day, which is derived from about 300 pounds of biomass.

Like Lyda, Adam Kline understood that Indiana’s Heartland Harvest had to process the hemp itself to tap existing margins for the company to pay off.

“Pricing is like this for two main reasons,” says Adam Kline. “First, a little oil is enough; and second, the rules about what hemp can be used for have been slow to evolve.” The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not yet enacted regulations on the various uses and sales of CBD oil products.

OTHER POSSIBILITIES

For example, the lack of regulation and oversight has prevented the wider adoption of CBD oil in food and beverages. Heartland Harvest is working on formulations of water-soluble CBD that could be added to countless beverages such as coffee, water or beer.

“There is almost no competition in the beverage sector,” says Adam Kline. “Water-soluble CBD is released quickly and the targeted effect occurs faster.” According to a 2019 Gallup poll, one in seven Americans uses CBD as an over-the-counter treatment for pain, anxiety, or sleep problems. There are thousands of positive anecdotes about CBD, but few, if any, definitive scientific studies to back up the claims.

Originally, the Klines plan was to grow hemp, process the oil, and supply so-called “white label” oil in bulk to other companies and retailers who would then sell under their own label. While they can still do this, they are also preparing to make CBD oil products – for food, beverage, and pet products – under their own label.

“The oils have gotten a bit industrial,” says Adam Kline. “For us this is not necessarily a volume game. We would like to exclude some middlemen in order to get a more attractive price.”

In any case, there are currently more CBD oil than buyers, Adam Kline and Lyda agree. “It’s definitely a buyer’s market,” says Adam Kline.

North Carolina-based Lyda sees her business in continuing to make oil tinctures along with smokable hemp flowers from hemp plants grown indoors. “CBD oil sells (prices were between $ 700 and $ 1,200 a liter at the time this was written) when you have a good product,” he says. “Just not as fast as the industry would like it to be.”

Unsurprisingly, in a young, semi-unregulated market, growers like Lyda and Kline want value-added products.

“It’s as if a tomato grower produces the tomato, processes it into ketchup himself, and then markets the ketchup in a store to get shelf space,” says Lyda. “This is how you have to do it with hemp now.”

**

Demand now and in the future

In 2018, 3,500 licenses for hemp cultivation were issued nationwide on around 80,000 hectares. Although the harvest was not fully legalized until the following year, pilot programs were in place in numerous states. The next year, with legalization, there were 19,000 licensed growers planting hemp on 320,000 acres across the country.

“The market was hot,” said Eric Steenstra, a long-time industry veteran and president of Vote Hemp, a national political advocacy group. “The vast majority of farmers grew biomass for $ 3.50 to $ 4 a pound.”

Instead of pursuing full legalization of the USDA with regulations on labeling, marketing and handling of the plants, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has raised red flags or simply delayed the provision of guidelines on cannabidiol (CBD) products. Their ramblings prevented wholesalers and grocery chains from stocking these products.

The combination of thousands of new growers in the market with fewer than expected outlets for product created a “perfect storm” to cool the market down, explains Steenstra. Biomass prices dropped to 50 to 75 cents per pound. Adding to the dismay, many growers decided, on the basis of speculation, to grow hemp without signing a buyer.

There are 14,000 licensed producers in 2021, but according to Steenstra there are still processors and producers sitting on oil and biomass from last year and even from 2019.

However, CBD oil isn’t the only product made from hemp. After all, the cultivation of hemp as fiber hemp was once common in the United States, especially for use in ropes during World War II. In addition, the hemp seed itself is used as a grain like most others. There are already breeders in the US who produce cannabis seeds for $ 1.15 per pound with an average yield of 700 to 800 pounds per acre, says Steenstra.

BMW and other companies already use hemp fiber in dashboards and other composites in vehicles.

CBD interacts with the human endocannabinoid system to produce powerful, natural results. Consistent use of Peels CBD Oil can restore balance and inner calm, cope with everyday stress, relieve pain and calm joints during exercise, and help maintain healthy sleep cycles.

The use of CBD in many stressful and physically demanding work areas such as professional sports, the military and first aiders was previously prohibited even for medical purposes. With guaranteed zero THC, Peels offers a worry-free CBD experience.

In addition to the holistic benefits of its CBD, peel also delivers unmatched taste and aroma. Peels gets its scent and taste from the addition of natural, organic citrus aroma and organic medium-chain triglyceride (MCT) oil (from coconut), which gives Peels CBD oil its characteristic orange cream-like taste.

How do you make CBD from oranges? Peels’ proprietary process for extracting high quality CBD from orange peel is called Cyclic Terpene Assembly, a proprietary technique for combining organic molecules without fouling them with solvents or destroying their essence. In this process, terpenes from orange peel are combined with olivetol, a naturally occurring organic compound, under heat and pressure in the presence of a catalyst. After minimal further processing, the result is crystalline CBD that is unparalleled in terms of purity and consistency. Everything that goes into the process is found in nature and everything that comes out of it is found in nature.

Each bottle of Peels is manufactured in FDA-approved facilities under the conditions of current good manufacturing practice (cGMP) and the guidelines of the Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA). All Peels products are subjected to strict quality assurance tests in accredited third-party laboratories.
