How To Detox From Marijuana’s THC

Published

on

This article was originally published on Weedmaps and appears here with permission.

It’s a familiar scenario. You just got a new job and you have to pass a drug test. Not sure how marijuana can affect results and you need to find out quickly.

If you’ve recently smoked a strain of cannabis high in tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), chances are a drug test could reveal the psychoactive cannabinoid in your system. It can be detectable in urine, blood, or even hair, although employers are unlikely to test the latter in drug screenings.

If you’re looking for effective ways to get THC out of your body before taking a drug test, you will likely be disappointed. There isn’t a quick and easy way to rid your system of marijuana, but it helps to know why. In this guide to THC detox, we explore the facts and myths about cannabis, drug testing, and what to consider if you are planning on getting a drug test in the future.

What is detox?

Detoxification is the removal of a toxic substance from the body, either by external means or by waiting for a drug to clear the bloodstream on its own. In general, it is healthier and safer to let the THC from marijuana leave the body unaided, unlike toxic drugs like cocaine or heroin, for which drugs are available to facilitate detoxification.

How long does it take to detox from THC?

The psychoactive effects of THC can last for less than two hours, but the compound or its by-products, called THC metabolites, can linger in the body for a considerable amount of time – 30 days or more according to most reports. That long stay makes detoxing THC a challenge, but let’s look at the most common methods used to manipulate THC levels and eliminate cannabis products from the body.

Does Exercise Help Detox THC?

If you’ve ever practiced hot yoga, you’ve likely heard your teachers talk about exuding toxins. While this notion is controversial, you may be wondering whether vigorous exercise and sweating can cause THC to leave the body through your pores.

Dr. Adie Rae, a neuroscientist at the Legacy Research Institute in Portland, Oregon and a scientific advisor to Weedmaps, comments, “Exercise can release stored THC from adipose tissue. In theory, exercise could help speed detoxification There isn’t any scientific evidence that exercise can speed up the detox process and help you pass a drug test sooner than you would have done without exercise. “

In terms of body fat, those with fewer THC metabolites are less likely to store due to faster metabolism. However, a person of any body weight may still have traces of the cannabinoid in their blood and / or urine, especially if they use marijuana on a daily basis.

Do detox drinks remove THC from the body?

Detox drinks like cranberry juice or green tea may be great solutions for flushing THC out of your system, but can they literally remove the cannabinoid? Not exactly.

Dr. Rather, Rae stated, “When it comes to passing a drug test, ‘detox drinks’ don’t actually remove THC from the body or urine. Instead, they fool the lab test by artificially loading the urine sample with vitamins and proteins like creatinine … it’s like adding coffee to sugar. Adding sugar doesn’t change the amount of bitter compounds in your cup, it just masks them and makes your brain think it’s less bitter. “

Hydrating with beverages like herbal tea and purified water is unlikely to rid your system of marijuana. However, increasing your fluid intake can be beneficial for your overall health.

In other words, the THC may still be present in the body, but it is possible that the compound will not be recorded on a toxicological report. Hence, hydration with beverages like herbal tea and purified water is unlikely to rid your system of marijuana. Still, increasing your fluid intake can be beneficial to your overall health, which is often not the case with unregulated products like detox pills and kits.

Do THC Detox Kits Really Work?

A detox kit may seem like a quick fix for purifying THC from your system, but these methods can be even less reliable than a liquid detox. First, THC detox kits are not approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), which means they could be harmful rather than helpful. While it might be possible to fool a drug test with a kit, it may not be worth jeopardizing your well-being for a product of questionable provenance and safety.

How can I use marijuana and still pass a drug test?

If you want to enjoy cannabis but don’t want the plant to be detected in a blood or urine sample, there are other options to consider. Hemp-derived CBD products such as oils and tinctures contain only traces of THC and can be taken alone or made into tasty edible recipes.

Another option is to smoke low-THC strains of marijuana. Popular cannabis strains allegedly containing less than 15% THC are Charlotte’s Web, Harlequin, and ACDC. For even lower levels, try Ringo’s Gift, which is said to only contain around 7% THC, which makes it a great choice even for beginners. However, consuming large amounts of a low-THC cannabis flower will defeat the purpose of low potency.

What’s the best way to detoxify THC?

According to Dr. Rae “the only way to really” detoxify “(remove the drug from the body) is to wait and see. The liver metabolizes THC and its metabolites continue to break down over time until there are no traces left may last 30 days or more for a daily cannabis user. “

Perhaps the best way to detoxify THC is to just play the waiting game and allow enough time to pass for the cannabinoid to naturally exit your system.

So, perhaps the best way to detox yourself from THC is to just play the waiting game and allow enough time for the cannabinoid to naturally exit your system. Drinking water, trying detox drinks like cranberry juice, and practicing yoga may not speed up the process, but they can make you feel good and help with any withdrawal symptoms.

Likewise, home remedies like lemon juice and apple cider vinegar have potential health benefits, but it’s a myth that they can steal THC from your system. These fluids can mask marijuana in your bloodstream and urine, but this outcome is unpredictable and will depend on numerous factors including your body composition, the frequency of cannabis use, and even the potency of the weed.

The bottom line in weed detox

As much as we all love a quick fix, not using cannabis for 30 days or more can be the only way to ensure THC doesn’t show up on a drug test.

ASA rules unfavourably towards CBD oil’s immune health supporting role

Published

on

In the presentation for ProLife CBD Oils, the UK company also claimed that the product was beneficial to general well-being and the immune system, which also means that it has been approved by the Food Standards Agency.

In response to the ASA’s ruling, Gemporia said they were unable “to substantiate the claims or to demonstrate that they are approved claims on the UK Nutrition and Health Claims Register (NHC) (the NHC Register). “

The company added that it assumed the products would be allowed to be marketed because a novel food application had been submitted to the FSA.

All references to this were based on this assumption, adding that they misunderstood the context.

Redditch-based Gemporia admitted having violated the Code on all counts and said their future advertising would comply with the Code.

Presentation details

The ad was specifically a 48-minute teleshopping presentation that aired on Jan.

Throughout the presentation, speakers made claims, including from field reports of the benefits of CBD oil, suggesting that the product could relieve pain and chemotherapy-induced nausea.

The presentation also discussed the requirement that CBD products must be registered with the FSA, saying, “… you have the Certificate of Analysis here and the stability report check … everyone has to have it” and “… what they say is anyone who has submitted their application before the deadline allow them to proceed because they have spent the money and tried and you hope that when they have done so they are confident “,

They continued, “… all this UK regulation just happened, a lot of companies can’t even bring you CBD right now because it doesn’t qualify for quality.”

“We always had the quality; we didn’t have to change anything “and” … this quality certificate and all ticks were always there. “

In support of their decision, ASA said the products were still being tested by the FSA and the novel food application process took into account factors other than the quality of the product.

They concluded that the ad “misrepresents the requirements for novel food approval and misleadingly implies that ProLife CBD Oil products have been approved, endorsed, or approved by the FSA.”

Prevents, treats and cures diseases

ASA’s assessment also assumed that consumers understood that the presentation said ProLife CBD oils could help with the medical conditions mentioned in the slides, testimonials, and speakers.

“We concluded that the claims implied that the product was a food that prevented, treated or cured a human disease, which was prohibited by the Code,” they added.

We thought viewers would understand the claim “helps your immune system” to mean that the CBD in the product would help the immune system function effectively.

“The claim was therefore a specific health claim that is not entered in the NHC register and therefore violates the code.

The other claim, “Helps general well-being”, was also considered to be a general health claim that had to be accompanied by a specific approved health claim related to CBD.

However, since there were no approved health claims for CBD, this claim also violated the code.
